Valve representatives announced today that Source engine is now available for Xbox 360. This engine is the same one used to power Counter Strike Source, Half-Life 2 and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Valve's president and co-founder stated that this combination of Xbox 360 technology and Source will allow all game developers to create "powerful entertainment experiences". He also declared that Source and Xbox 360 were already going on the same path as they were both offering flexibility and tools for game designers meant to expand their design horizons.

Furthermore, Half-Life 2 will be launched for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in the first quarter of 2007 and of course, the game will also have Xbox Live support. Valve representatives did not gave out information about other games supported by Source that will come out for Xbox 360.

Maybe sometime in the future, we will see games like Team Fortress 2, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Portal and SiN Episodes: Emergence on the Xbox 360.

The Source engine, developed by Valve, features a large degree of modularity and flexibility, and extraordinary lip sync and facial expression technology and an efficient physics system and that is what makes it so unique and loved by game developers.
