Japanese-Swedish mobile-phone maker Sony Ericsson has unveiled to the world its first device powered by Google's Android operating system, the Xperia X10, and now details on the handset's availability on the market have begun to emerge. Most of you might have learned already that wireless operator Rogers will deliver the phone to the Canadian market in the near future, and now we learn that Vodafone should do the same move in the UK.

The mobile-phone carrier has already placed a page for the Xperia X10 on its website, where it states clearly that the handset will arrive on its network in April. In other words, it shouldn't be too long before users in the UK will be able to enjoy the capabilities of this device on Vodafone's network. And Xperia X10 indeed brings some nice specs along, that's for sure.

“The incredible Sony Ericsson X10 is powered by Android. So it's easy to sync with your Google account – and with Picasa, Google's popular photo sharing site. It's a looker too, with a huge four inch touchscreen that'll blow you away. Switch fast to widescreen by turning the X10 on its side. Then enjoy movies and the web in stunning definition – as well as photos taken with its 8.1 megapixel camera. Once you start using Sony Ericsson's X10, you'll find it quickly becomes part of your daily life. Email and updates come directly to you. The web is always just a touch away. And the Android system makes all things Google work beautifully together on your phone,” the carrier notes.

A large touchscreen display is another appealing feature of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, not to mention that 1GHz processor it packs inside. In addition to the 8MP camera, users will also enjoy the phone's 3G connectivity options, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, built-in GPS navigation, and the large amount of storage space the handset can support. Unfortunately, the carrier hasn't unveiled any pricing info on the Xperia X10 for the time being, and it will probably do so close to launch, so stay tuned for more updates on this.
