Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson unveiled to the world late last year its first handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Xperia X10, and said that the phone would arrive in early 2010 on various markets around the world. Following previous announcements that wireless carrier Rogers will bring the device to Canada, we learn now that T-Mobile Germany will also have it available for its users in the near future.

According to a recent article on theunwired, the mobile phone carrier revealed that it would launch the high-end Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in Germany in April 2010, something that seems to confirm something that was only rumored back in December: the Android phone has been delayed a little. However, the good news is that it will arrive in the market in early second quarter, and there are chances that other carriers will receive it earlier than that.

Most of you might know by now what Xperia X10 is set to deliver in terms of hardware specs and capabilities, but we should still mention the large 4-inch scratch-resistant capacitive screen that boasts a 480 x 854 pixel (WVGA) resolution, the 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor inside, an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper with a nice range of features and functionalities, or the Android 1.6 OS on board (though it should get updated to a newer version by the time the phone lands on the market).

Sony Ericsson also packed the handset with support for the already popular Google services that other Android users can benefit from, as well as with its own user interface, which comes with Mediascape and Timescape, two solutions meant to enhance the user experience to new levels. The Xperia X10 that will land at T-Mobile Germany includes support for quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and tri band UMTS/HSPDA/HSUPA at 900/1700/2100. Unfortunately, no pricing details were unveiled for the time being.
