With hidden keys and transparent display

Japanese-Swedish joint venture Sony Ericsson announced yesterday yet another mobile phone included in the Xperia series, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness. The handheld was spotted into the wild a while ago, under the name of Sony Ericsson Kiki, yet details on its configuration and capabilities haven't been unveiled this time either.

However, more info on the new Xperia handset should become available in the near future, considering the fact that the mobile phone maker announced plans to bring it to the market as soon as November this year, “through selected retail distribution channels in key cities around the world,” as the company puts it.

The new phone was shown at a business update meeting in London, where Sony Ericsson also announced a new brand direction for the company and the “alignment under the Sony make.believe brand message.” For what it's worth, although the device is expected to come to the market at a rather high price, it still has the looks to attract users on its side.

On the one hand, it seems that the phone's keys are hidden, and meant to light up only at times when needed. At the same time, its display is reportedly a transparent one, and the silent video at the bottom of this article shows a little of this feature. No other details are available for the time being but, as stated above, more should surface shortly.

“Xperia Pureness approaches the mobile phone as a work of art rather than technology. The company’s designers aimed to sculpt an object of design that reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use,” is what Sony Ericsson has to say about the phone, while adding that the device brings together beautiful craftsmanship and the concept of “talk, text, time - a holiday from technology.” Stay tuned to learn more details on the new, atypical Xperia device.

The handset has already been seen, and more images with it can be found here.
