Though they never paraded their romance for the cameras, Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan have always been extremely affectionate towards each other away from the public glare. Reports are now saying they split.

The DailyFill says word in the industry has it that the hectic schedules both have ended up by pushing them apart and they probably decided to call it quits.

“Over the weekend, rumors started to swirl that the couple have put an end to their year-long romance,” the e-zine notes.

This was happening as Carey flew to the UK to promote her latest film, “Never Let Me Go,” also starring Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield, the new Spider-Man.

“Sources reveal that the young stars haven’t been spending much time together lately. Their busy schedules may have finally driven them apart,” DailyFill notes.

Indeed, it’s been quite a while since the two have been seen together either on the red carpet or in paparazzi shots, with the latter being near-confirmation that they’re not an item anymore.

Neither publicist is available for comment right now – but it’s Carey herself who seems to shed some light on the rumors in a recent interview with The Telegraph.

Asked about plans for the future, the star announced she’d be moving back to the UK very soon for reasons that she did not care to elaborate at that moment.

“I’m moving back to England: it’s a long story. I am spending some more time here at the moment. Just spending time with my family, really,” Mulligan said.

As fans must know, Shia and Carey first met and started dating on the set of “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” For a while, they did not wish to confirm their relationship to the media but, as is usually the case, paparazzi shots did all the talking for them.

As the DailyFill notes, they were “one of Hollywood’s young power couples,” even though they rarely made a big thing of their romance.
