“You could have put Frankie Muniz into any of the movies I’ve been in and those movies still would’ve still been No. 1,” Shia LaBeouf says

Shia LaBeouf is now industry’s most profitable actor, with his most recent films all going straight to number one, and being hits with both audiences and critics. One person who’s not a fan is Frankie Muniz – and Shia is not about to let that one go.

As MovieLine puts it, in the long history of feuds in showbiz, we have Alien vs. Predator, Ali vs. Frazier, 50 Cent vs. Oprah The Dog, Liston vs. Patterson, Paris vs. Nicole. And, of course, LaBeouf vs. Muniz.

Though it’s not certain what got the two so set against each other, it seems clear that not even now, after 12 years, they’re willing to let it go.

LaBeouf was recently on The Bert Show doing a radio interview, when he was asked how he felt about being such a hit actor, with “Wall Street 2” being the sixth film in which he starred to go straight to number 1.

This, it would seem, was the best occasion to reignite the feud with Muniz as LaBeouf approached the question with false modesty – and a healthy dose of venom.

“While that’s flattering as hell, you could have put Frankie Muniz into any of the movies I’ve been in and those movies would’ve still been No. 1,” LaBeouf said.

Asked whether he was not afraid of a comeback from Muniz on the comment – say, if he approached him at a party to fight back – Shia further thrust the knife.

“I don’t go to many parties… and I really don’t hang out in Frankie Muniz-type zones,” the actor said.

Muniz, though a retired actor (by choice, but perhaps not for long), chose to fight back on Twitter and not wait it out until he caught Shia in the “Frankie Muniz-Type zones.”

“Dear Shia LaBeouf, It’s getting creepy the fact that you can’t stop talking about me. It’s been 12 years now. I don’t know you. Thanks,” the former “Malcom in the Middle” tweeted.

As MovieLine points out, whatever it is that got Shia so upset (and it must have been something big for him to hold a grudge for so many years), Muniz comes across as the “winner” in this recent “confrontation” for the mere reason that he’s stating the obvious.

“And the TKO goes to Frankie ‘The Drowned Rat’ Muniz! Let’s face it, Shia, when you carry a grudge for THIS long and you’re so obviously more successful than your object of ridicule, well, you just come across as petty and a little pathetic,” MovieLine says.

“Shia, you’re the apple of Spielberg’s eye! And he hasn’t done much of note since 2006! Time to let this go,” the same e-zine points out.
