Shazam, the popular mobile discovery service, is on its way to Windows Phone 7. As soon as the first mobile phones running under the new mobile platform would land on shelves two days from now, the Shazam application would be there for music fans to download and install it one their new devices. Along with it, they would enjoy a version of Frogger too, a simple, fun and appealing mobile game.

There are little things that one can say about Shazam and hasn't been said before, though there are a series of aspects that are specific to the Windows Phone 7 application, and they would have to be put on display.

Shazam gives you instant satisfaction when you want to know what song is playing. Shazam identifies music anywhere: from the radio, TV, film or in a store, bar or club. Just point your phone toward the music source to learn more about the artist and buy the song immediately,” a recent post on Windows Team Blog reads.

The application makes use of the Panorama and Pivot controls the new mobile operating system from Microsoft comes to the market with, and also comes with the unique Windows Phone 7 Metro design schema.

The development team managed to fine-tune the visual appearance of the application, in addition to including Windows Phone 7 XNA audio features to enhance the audio recording, processing and compression.

Shazam on Windows Phone 7 should be able to offer users the possibility to start a very appealing music journey regardless their location.

As for Frogger on Windows Phone 7, we should note that it is nothing more than the classic Frogger that requires users to get Frogger across the river, while having to avoid the known obstacles: cars, trucks and the rushing river.

“The classic arcade game becomes even more interesting by incorporating Xbox LIVE leader boards and achievements which allows for a little friendly competition amongst friends. Game play uses the touch screen as you guide Frogger to safety. Don't forget to look both ways before crossing the street,” the said blog post reads.

The game comes from Konami Digital Entertainment and was developed using XNA Studio, being able to offer the same feeling as the classic game would offer.

However, the mobile solution also comes with full integration with Xbox LIVE, so that users can enjoy included leaderboards and achievements, while being able to compare their score against the score of other players.

The multi-touch capabilities of Windows Phone 7 devices is another appealing feature the new game comes with.
