“Eclipse,” the third installment in “The Twilight Saga,” arrives in theaters at the end of June this year, which means Twi-hards have only so little to go until they see their favorite characters again: Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black. In the meantime, they should be happy to hear that a second official trailer has just been released, as MSNBC can confirm.

The trailer, made available online courtesy of Oprah and her Harpo Productions, shows another angle of the all-too popular story. While the first teaser and official trailer detailed the romantic triangle made of the three protagonists, this one casts some light on the big vampire confrontation awaiting them, when the Cullens and the Wolf Pack must join forces to fight both the Volturi and a vampire army brought together by Victoria.

“Oprah Winfrey debuted the new trailer for ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ on her TV show and then on her website. After concentrating on the Bella-Jacob-Edward love triangle in the first teaser, this full trailer is more plot-driven, concentrating on the newborn vampire army being raised by Victoria (new addition Bryce Dallas Howard) and its threat to all of our heroes back in Forks. We get vampires rising from the water, Victoria racing through the forest, plenty of clashing werewolves and, of course, at least one shot of Taylor Lautner with his shirt off,” MSNBC says.

Indeed, this second trailer seems to appeal more to the male segment of the audience, as it’s more about the action than about the love story that got female fans divided into two camps: Team Edward and Team Jacob. Plenty of scenes are included, promising impressive action scenes and lots of special effects, which would go hand in hand with what members of the cast have been saying for months, namely that “Eclipse” will be more action-focused.

“The trailer has very little of Edward, only some Bella and only one or two frames of implied romance. Is the feeling that young female viewers were already going to see ‘Eclipse’ and that this action-filled trailer might be able to convince a few more men to sign on? It certainly seems that way,” MSNBC also says. Below is the second full “Eclipse” trailer. Enjoy.
