Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced not too long ago a new handset that is known under the name of Tocco Ultra Edition, as well as the Samsung UltraTOUCH. The company’s S8300 is a touchscreen device that should feature the mobile phone maker’s updated TouchWiz user interface, and which is expected to be added to Vodafone’s UK offering on March 19. According to the news on the Web, the device should come in the country under the name of Tocco Ultra Edition.

The mobile phone was announced for the first time back in December last year, yet we were able to take a look at it during the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain, back in February. What we learn now is that the handset is expected to come to UK users for free with a 30 GBP rate plan with Vodafone.

The device should appeal to a lot of users, especially given that it will be offered for free, as well as on account of the rather nice features it is expected to come with. Among the specifications of the handset, we are able to spot a 2.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that also has anti-scratch features, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-power LED flash and geo-tagging functionality.

In addition, the specification list of the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition also includes GSM/EDGE/HSDPA connectivity, a slide-out numeric keypad, A-GPS capabilities, VGA video recording at 30fps, Media player, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with A2DP, FM Radio with RDS, as well as 80MB of internal memory, complemented by a MicroSDHC memory card slot that supports up to 16GB of additional storage space. The handset measures 110 x 51.5 x 12.7 mm.

If you’re in the UK, planning to buy a new mobile phone, and you consider that a Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition sounds like a good deal, you should probably head over to Vodafone to give it a try.
