Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a worldwide leading mobile phone maker, announced today the launch of its elegant “UltraTOUCH” handset, a full-touch slider phone. The device is being released before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, yet the company plans to take the phone to the show to present its vision on the future of full-touch mobiles, as well as on style and design. The new UltraTOUCH comes in line with previous Ultra editions, bringing the highest in design and technology, to which it successfully adds full touch.

“With its refined contoured design, Samsung UltraTOUCH is our elegant full-touch hero at this year’s Mobile World Congress, proving again that Samsung’s mobile phones are at the forefront of style,” Mr. JK Shin, executive vice president and head of Mobile Communication Division of Samsung Electronics, said. He added that “We are committed to strengthening our portfolio of full-touch phones by introducing a variety of handsets to suit every lifestyle. UltraTOUCH leads this portfolio as our most iconic, high-end phone, and will further enhance Samsung’s leadership in the premium full-touch market.”

UltraTOUCH proves Samsung's commitment to deliver stylish mobile phones to users. The new product comes with revolutionary touch screen technology, complemented by a sophisticated design that provides multimedia features. The handset sports a 2.8” AMOLED anti-scratch screen, which is able to deliver bright and vivid colors. It has an ultra-slim 12.7mm body, which boasts the best functionality provided by its touch-screen display and by an additional 3x4 keypad slider. Its “silky back” design ensures that the phone looks great from any angle. The product’s durability is provided by a brushed metal frame.

The multimedia functionality hasn't been left aside either. The Samsung UltraTOUCH comes with an 8 megapixel snapper, which features dual power LED flash and smile shot mode. Other functionalities of the handset include GPS navigation with geo-tagging capabilities, as well as HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity and high quality 30fps@VGA video recording.

The user interface is also meant to leverage the experience while surfing through the phone's menus. The new Samsung UltraTOUCH comes with an upgraded TouchWiz UI, allowing users to drag mobile widgets and place them on the screen, while the slide-out tactile 3x4 keypad offers a wide range of customization capabilities so that they will be able to personalize the handset as much as they'd like.
