A premium version of the popular I8910 HD

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced today the launch of I8910 HD (Omnia HD, GT-I8910) Gold Edition, a premium version of its full touch screen smartphone. The new variant comes to the market with luxurious new look and a series of special accessories, revealed the company. The new Samsung I8910 HD Gold Edition will arrive on shelves in two color options, Champagne Gold and Luxury Brown, both inlayed with 24 karat gold.

At the same time, the device also comes with high performance capabilities, including HD quality (720p) video capture, a 3.7-inch auto-rotating AMOLED display for a great viewing experience, not to mention a leather case included in the package, as well as special accessories like a mini-cradle and TV-out cable. The new model, just as the original, is expected to deliver an enhanced multimedia experience to users, the company states.

“We are launching the Samsung I8910 HD Gold Edition for those who enjoy the amazing multimedia experience and features it offers, and want an extra touch of style and sophistication with their mobile phone,” said Younghee Lee, vice president of the Mobile Communication Division, Samsung Electronics. “The I8910 HD Gold Edition demonstrates our vision to provide phones for every customer, while delivering functionality, style, usability and entertainment in each innovative device.”

The I8910 HD Gold Edition is capable of offering users the possibility to enjoy HD content on an HDTV via DLNA technology, as well as on its 6:9 screen with support for 16 million colors. The handset sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper, as well as 16GB of internal memory, which is coupled with a microSD memory card slot with support for 32GB of additional storage space. Moreover, users will enjoy the phone's HSUPA 5.76Mbps and HSDPA 7.2Mbps capabilities, as well as its GPS receiver, and the intuitive 3D interface it has been packed with.

According to Samsung, the new I8910 HD Gold Edition is expected to become available for purchase during December in a series of markets around the world, including Singapore, Germany and the Middle East.
