Yesterday we had the chance to have a glimpse at what Sprint has up its sleeve for its users for the ongoing year and now we learn more about what Samsung has to offer when it comes to touchscreen mobile phones aimed at the European market. The company's plans were unveiled yesterday at a dealer event in Amsterdam, where we were also able to spot the first Android-based mobile phone Samsung plans to launch in 2009.

From what we've heard, the Korean mobile phone maker intends to release to the market during the ongoing year a number of 10 handsets that haven't been announced up until now. For the time being, only the number of said devices is known, as the company made available no further details, and the images that surfaced to the web with the devices are rather blurry.

Among the company’s touchscreen lineup we should see the already mentioned Android handset, as well as other nice-looking mobile phones like the Omnia HD, which is said to come to the market powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. Again, Samsung provided no further details on the device, yet it should come with about the same spec configuration as its Symbian-based counterpart.

The company's lineup is also expected to include at least two business class QWERTY mobile phones that should come in a sliding form factor. Among them, we might also see a new high-end camera phone, probably a 12-megapixel one, which is said to come as the successor of the already known Samsung Pixon.

As stated above, the details on the new touchscreen handsets Samsung plans to launch on the European market in 2009 are rather scarce. Hopefully, we'll soon be able to learn more on the unannounced devices heading towards us, so stay tuned for new info as it emerges.
