Samsung has recently announced the launch of a new handset in the UK, namely the Samsung S7220. The fresh device was spotted on the wild a while ago, before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and was expected to be unveiled at the show under the name of Samsung Eltz S7220, yet the company didn’t say anything about it back then.

This time around, after keeping us in the dark about the fate of this handset, Samsung comes forth to the market with the candybar mobile phone, yet not dubbed Eltz, as anyone would have expected, but under the name of Samsung Lucido S7220. The new trade name of the handset is said to mean “Sleek” in Italian, and the handheld seems to deserve it.

When it comes to the specifications list and capabilities of the fresh Samsung Lucido S7220, we can count there quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900), 900/1200 UMTS, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, and USB 2.0 capabilities.

The Korean mobile phone maker packed the new device with a 2.2 inch QVGA AMOLED Display, and with a 5-megapixel photo snapper that sports autofocus. The new Samsung Lucido S7220 is also expected to feature FM Radio.

Those that are fond of traveling will be able to enjoy the phone's A-GPS navigation capabilities via Google Maps. In addition, Lucido S7220 also comes with a built-in accelerometer, as well as with a microSD memory card slot that should provide users with additional storage space. The new mobile phone measures 114 x 46.3 x 11.8 mm.

Samsung announced that the fresh Lucido S7220 would become available for purchase in the UK at the beginning of April, yet no details on price have been unveiled.
