Hot on the heels of the successful Samsung Corby (S3650), South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has announced today that it launched two new mobile phones that will fit into the Corby line, namely Samsung CorbyTXT and Samsung CorbyPRO. The new devices, the maker states, are aimed mainly at young handset users and can provide great connectivity options.

Both the Samsung CorbyTXT and Samsung CorbyPRO have been designed so as to prove great options for certain lifestyles, and are differentiated by key features. They both come with bold colors, pop-style contours and a curved form factor, just as the original Corby, but also feature messaging, multimedia entertainment and business capabilities, the company added.

“The Corby family is in-line with our ongoing strategy of developing different mobiles to match every lifestyle,” said JK Shin, executive vice president and head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Division. “The focus with the original Corby and now with the Corby family has been to offer our consumers choice: choice over the colour of the handset, choice over how they stay connected and choice over the features and functionality that best suit their unique personalities and communications requirements.”

Samsung CorbyTXT (B3210) comes with easy-to-use SMS and IM features, as well as with social media uploading capabilities. Its specs list includes a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5mm earphone jack, photo snapper, music player, brightly-colored fashion jackets, and changeable battery covers. The device is aimed mainly at heavy texters and is expected to reach the European market by the end of September.

Samsung CorbyPRO (B5310) is a hybrid slider that boasts a QWERTY keyboard, push email service, entertainment and multimedia features, access to Facebook and MySpace, a 3-megapixel photo snapper, 3G/HSDPA, Wi-Fi and quad-band connectivity, as well as a 3.5mm earphone jack and dedicated music keys. The phone should become available on the European market in November, while reaching other markets as well shortly after.
