With key features of its predecessor

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics announced recently the launch of a new handset on the Indian market, extending the lineup of available device in the country with the Samsung Jet 2. The new phone comes with the same key features of the original Samsung Jet, but also includes a wide range of enhanced smartphone capabilities, as well as the easy-to-use interface of a handset.

The specifications list of Samsung Jet 2 includes a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, coupled with an 800MHz application processor, as well as with media content sharing technology and Google Push Email. Additionally, the handset also comes with an English dictionary and an advanced Media Browser, not to mention social networking widgets so that one can easily access favorite communities.

“Samsung Jet 2’s Multiple applications run both seamlessly and simultaneously through the powerful application processor, enabling users to dip in and out of the features as they wish. With its 3D media gate UI and motion-response UI, users can enjoy a dynamic, content-based experience. The 3D media gate on Samsung Jet 2 offers easy access to six key multimedia features, such as Photo album, Music player, Video player, FM Radio, Games and internet, all simply accessed by rolling a six sided cube UI on the screen,” the company notes. The new mobile phone comes with Samsung’s Dolphin Internet browser, which is meant to offer both ease of usage and speed to those who access the Internet from their handset. According to the company, the browser can display up to five pages at the same time, and also offers them the possibility to bookmark websites as widgets on the phone’s homepage. Additional features of the browser include ad-blocker, multiple downloading and background downloading, as well as multi-purpose address field.

“Today’s mobile users seek smart features and easy-to –use user interface in their mobiles. Samsung Jet 2 combines both these qualities and gives the user a superior and differentiated experience,” stated Ranjeet Yadav, director- Mobile & IT, Samsung Electronics, while announcing the launch of Samsung Jet 2 on the Indian market.

The new device comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 UI on board, and offers multi-touch zoom capabilities to users, so that they can enjoy the “ultimate in usability, portability and convenience” with Samsung Jet 2. A 5 mega-pixel camera, built-in GPS, and DivX and XviD video support complement the phone's multimedia features. The price tag for the new Samsung Jet 2 has been set at Rs. 19, 500.
