Following a wide range of rumors on the matter, some more solid proof on the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S II on the market in the United States started to emerge.

The South Korean handset vendor is reportedly gearing up for the release of this device stateside as soon as next month, though no further info on the matter is unveiled for the time being.

Shin Jong-Kyun, president of Samsung's mobile communications business, reportedly announced during the launch even for the company's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC in Taiwan that US users will be able to purchase the mobile phone in August.

However, specific info on the actual release date for the device has not emerged so far, nor on the availability or price tag.

Galaxy S II was already made available for purchase in various other markets around the world, including a series of countries in Europe and Asia, and should land in Canada tomorrow, but has yet to make an appearance on shelves in the United States.

While nothing is officially confirmed on the matter for the time being, some of the previous rumors suggested that Samsung might have the phone launched on all major wireless carriers in the country.

Moreover, some suggested that the phone would be tailored specifically for the various operators in the US, and that it would also feature specific names: Attain, Function and Within, for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, respectively.

Some of these phones already made an appearance into the wild. Alleged photos of what was said to be Within emerged not too long ago, and the Samsung Function for Verizon was reportedly spotted on a test site.

All these leaks indicated that the release date might have been close, and the announcement made by Shin Jong-Kyun confirms that. Hopefully, the exact details on the release of Galaxy S II in the US will arrive soon, so keep an eye on this space for more on this.
