Canadian mobile phone carrier Bell is expected to bring to the market in the near future a new high-end smartphone running under Google's Android operating system, namely the Samsung Galaxy S II. The wireless operator already announced plans to make the new device available for purchase on its airwaves, but did not offer specific info on when that might happen.

However, according to Best Buy, July 21st might be the lucky day for enthusiasts, while the price tag would be an affordable one at only $149.99 with the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

Soon, mobile phone users in Canada will be able to enjoy the capabilities of this high-end smartphone on the airwaves of Bell, as well as at other wireless carriers in the country.

The mobile phone was unveiled to the world with a fast dual-core 1.2GHz application processor packed inside, and with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display on the front.

The handset runs under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and offers support for a wide range of services from the Mountain View-based company, as well as for applications available for download via the Android Market.

“The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G from Bell is slim, sleek and super-fast,” Best Buy Canada notes on its website.

“It features a dual core application processor so it works at lightning fast speeds, and is home to an 8MP camera with HD recording, an ultra-vibrant 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, and smart Samsung features that will keep you entertained no matter where you're at.”

The said 8MP photo snapper offers 1080p HD video capture capabilities, complemented by HD video playback, and a front-facing camera for video calling.

The smartphone also includes support for 4G speeds of up to 21 Mbps, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 wireless technologies, built-in GPS receiver, and 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
