During a recent press event, Samsung decided to provide more official details on its Spring 2011 lineup, many of the products detailed, priced and dated on this occasion being models previously released at CES 2011.

In fact, that's also the case with the company's QWERTY TV Remote with an LCD screen, that delivers a seriously enhanced level of control over Samsung's Smart TVs.

The remote control, set to go on sale in April 2011 for around 100 US dollars, is capable of connecting wirelessly with a Samsung Smart TV and also sports a very interesting system that automatically deactivates the buttons on one side when the other is in use, in order to prevent accidental activation.

Beside this highly-advanced remote control (which we suspect will become the norm in the case of most future Smart HDTVs), Samsung also provided some additional info regarding its One Foot Connection, a wireless “pairing” technology of sorts that employs a special Wi-Fi router from Samsung (model CY-SWR1100), allowing users to then connect a variety of devices to the network by simply bringing them in the close vicinity of the router (hence, the technology's name).

Of course, the respective products also require a wireless LAN adapter, but Samsung's got you covered from this point of view as well, announcing the US$80 WISO9ABGN adapter, that will accompany the aforementioned wireless router, set to sell for around 150 US dollars, both products being slated to become available over the course of March.

Since Panasonic has enabled Skype VoIP video communications on its Viera TV sets, Samsung has decided to come up with a similar offering and announced the CY-STC1100 camera, a 720p imaging device that connects to a Smart TV's USB port and enables users to access the Skype app via the company's dedicated app store.

According to Samsung, the camera is quite easy to install, fairly unobtrusive, and sells for around 170 US dollars, starting with March 2011.

These are only some of the products detailed by Samsung during their press event, so stay tuned and watch this space, because we'll be providing even more info on this topic throughout the day.
