Samsung released an entire collection of large, professional displays not long ago, and it looks like only one of them has been described without its price being disclosed to the public.

Samsung definitely did not hold back when it unveiled its newest batch of commercial LCDs with LED backlighting.

While its consumer-oriented announcements usually deal with one or two panels (though not always so few), this once marked the emergence of four full lines.

More specifically, Samsung detailed the HE Series, the ME, the UE and the UD, the last of these being, for the moment, composed of just one member.

Speaking of the UD, or UD55A, as the panel is called, it features a screen size of 55 inches, while the frame never exceeds 29.9 mm in thickness.

That said, the native resolution of the liquid crystal display panel is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD), which is hardly a surprise at this point.

There is also mention of a 700 nits brightness, definitely an asset for the mission-critical videowall applications it is designed for.

Other specifications include a contrast ratio of 5,000:1 (the same as on all the others), HDMI, DisplayPort, content control through RS232C and RJ45 ports and viewing angles of 178 degrees (horizontally and vertically).

Finally, the two 10W speakers complete the spec sheet of this product designed in such a way as to work well for long periods of time, 27/7 as it were.

“The displays feature ultra-thin bezels, making displays easier to hang in more locations than ever before. The bezels integrate into the overall design and feature more advanced cooling technologies, designed for long hours of continuous use,” says the press release.

Unlike the others, the UD55A was not given a price. Neverheless, with shipments slated for the third quarter, it shouldn't be overly long before this last bit of info is made clear.
