South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung and Agito Networks, provider of innovative solutions in enterprise mobility, have recently announced a partnership through which Samsung's smartphones will receive the functionality of the first “server-based enterprise fixed mobile convergence (eFMC) and mobile Unified Communications solution” available commercially. The Agito-enabled support will come to a series of handsets, including the Samsung Propel Pro, Jack, Epix, Saga, Omnia and the new Samsung Intrepid.

Samsung has a broad community of users, and we are pleased to make available Agito’s leading mobile UC capabilities to this growing group of enterprise users,” said Pejman Roshan, Agito Networks chief marketing officer. “Samsung’s Windows Mobile phones are an excellent tool for enterprises with a mobile workforce, both inside and outside the office. Agito continues to innovate and grow its industry-leading number of supported handsets, as well as add to the number of CDMA devices it has supported since April, to best equip Samsung users with the advantages of mobile PBX and UC functionality.”

Samsung, as many of you might already know, is a leading provider of Windows Mobile-based devices that aim at meeting users' needs when it comes to fixed mobile convergence and Unified Communications. Agito Networks’ award-winning RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is one of the best mobile Unified Communications products and has been developed so as to offer businesses the possibility to easily mobilize enterprise voice and UC applications. The server based RoamAnywhere is the only shipping mobile UC solution that comes with support for both GSM-based and CDMA-based devices, the two companies stated.

“Agito Networks has a proven enterprise FMC and Mobile UC solution, and we are pleased that Agito is making this mobile UC functionality available to Samsung’s growing enterprise user base,” said Gavin Kim, vice president, content and data services and enterprise enablement for Samsung Mobile. “We can see how Agito’s technology can help Samsung Mobile customers save money by reducing their mobile costs, while improving productivity with mobile UC and PBX capabilities available at their fingertips on their Samsung device, wherever they are.”
