Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wants more challenging roles after “Transformers” debut

She’s been slammed by critics for her performance in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” but model turned actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is not letting that stand in the way of her dreams of becoming an established actress.

As she said before, she’s determined to forge a career in film if audiences love her. Clearly, they do, because only critics complained about her performance in “Transformers,” few fans said they missed Megan Fox, whom Rosie replaced.

In a recent interview cited by MusicRooms, the British beauty reveals she would love the chance to do something different for her next part, something completely unexpected.

While the entire world can see her do the role of the heartbreaker / stunner like in “Transformers,” few would expect to see her completely transformed, like Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman in the Oscar-winning “Monster” and “The Hours” respectively.

As such, this is precisely that Rosie is now hoping for.

“It would be amazing to really go against my image and do something like that, definitely,” she says, as cited by the aforementioned e-zine.

“I’m so flattered by winning the FHM title [Hottest Woman in the World], but I’d love people to see a different side of me. Hopefully more exciting roles will come,” the model adds.

In an interview that came out before “Transformers,” when critics still said she stood good chances at forging an acting career, Rosie also said she’d love it if she could model her career on Angelina Jolie’s, as we also reported at the time.

“Would I like even a sniff of Angelina Jolie’s career? Yes. Do I think I have a future in this business? I certainly hope so. And I’m going to work damn hard to make sure I do,” she said.

“I’m not standing here and saying I’m an amazing actress or that I’ve had a heap of thespie training. But you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t,” Rosie added.

Critics would argue that she’s proved with “Transformers” two things: one, she’s truly incredibly beautiful and two, she can’t act. Fans, on the other hand, would probably have her have another go at this whole acting thing.
