One of the greatest role playing games (RPGs) of all times, The Witcher, is going to become an even more exciting game, since the developers, CD Projekt RED have announced that they are preparing a lot of new things to be brought in for the delight of the fans.

In an official press release stating that only three months were needed for the game to sell more than 600,000 copies, we also got a few hints regarding the plans for the development of the game. Adam Kiciński, CD Projekt RED Joint CEO said that the release of the powerful D'jinni module editor is being planned for the near future, while updates and patches will arrive on a regular basis. He also said that a "big surprise" will be announced in late spring, but no further details have been given. As usual, the developers prefer the world to go crazy and start the speculation frenzy. So don't hesitate to tell us your opinion regarding this big announcement! Expansion pack, anyone?

The Witcher was the debut video game for the CD Project RED studio and it was still really well received by the gamers community, as well as game critics. 48 awards and a review average of 9.4 on Metacritic come to prove the fact that the 600,000 copies sold until now made as many people extremely happy.

Adam Kiciński commented: "We are very happy with The Witcher's performance to date. Our goal was - and still is - to reach one million copies sold during the first year. 600,000 games sold in just three months brings us much closer to this ambitious goal. It's a great success for us, made all the more impressive by the fact that The Witcher was created by a completely new team and it is our debut both as a game developer and in bringing our products to a global audience." We also got a few hints that we'll be seeing more from the company, either as a continuation for the RPG, or some brand new stuff: "The task was not easy, as The Witcher brand was completely unknown in many markets, and it was released in a busy season alongside franchises that have been on the market for many years. Yet, I can confidently say that we've passed this trial victoriously. Actually, only now - as we've conquered many of the initial barriers - can we spread our wings, which, of course, we intend to do." Can't wait to see them spreading their wings, honestly!
