14 DAY TRIAL // Leading provider of mobile local search services Poynt Corporation has just announced the availability of a new mobile application for BlackBerry devices from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion.
The brand new flavor of the Poynt for BlackBerry smartphones application enables the pairing of the mobile phones with the new BlackBerry PlayBook.
Thus, users would easily enjoy the viewing of listings on the PlayBook tablet’s larger display, while being able to use the BlackBerry smartphone to interact with the search results.
“Users can call businesses, add addresses to the address book or add events to the calendar on their smartphone. Mapping and directions can also be pushed to the smartphone,” the company notes.
Poynt for BlackBerry PlayBook comes with the same search categories the software offers on other devices as well.
With it, users can easily search for businesses, people, movies, events, restaurants, gas prices and more, and also offers them the possibility to receive directions to the wanted location, or to buy tickets, view movie trailers, access restaurant reviews or book reservations.
Through the ‘Pair with PlayBook’ tab in Poynt, one can easily put the BlackBerry smartphone with their PlayBook together (the app would require for the BlackBerry smartphone PIN to be entered).
Users would be able to un-pair devices at all any time they want to. As soona s the devices were paired, users can take advantage of Poynt to make searches and enjoy the PlayBook interface to call businesses and add listings to their contacts.

Another important feature of the application would be the fact that it enables users to share listings with friends via Facebook (it already enabled them to share on Twitter or through email).
Poynt for BlackBerry Playbook, along with the latest flavor of Poynt for BlackBerry smartphones, was made available for download via the BlackBerry AppWorld.
