A new Twitter for BlackBerry application is now available for download via the BlackBerry Beta Zone, version 2.0, which comes soon after the release of 1.1 flavor of the software, and which marks a shift in RIM's approach towards the release of new iterations of the app.

Apparently, starting with this version, newer releases would arrive faster, so as to deliver new features to users more often than before.

“Hot on the heels of the official release of Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones v1.1 is the latest beta version of Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones – version 2.0 – which is available in BlackBerry Beta Zone today,” a recent post on the Inside BlackBerry blog reads.

“Another release already, you say? Our Twitter app team here at Research In Motion (RIM) has adopted an iterative development approach, which means smaller scoped releases will be available to you on a more frequent basis. This means you get access to more features, faster!”

In Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0, the focus was on simplified navigation, translated in a sleek new look for the navigation bar, with fast and easy access to popular features of Twitter.

“For instance, we’ve combined the ‘Search’, ‘Find People’, and ‘Popular Topics’ screens into a new Single Search Screen," the post continues.

Now you can search for Tweets and people from a single location, as well as view Trends and Saved Searches, unifying the entire Twitter Search experience.”

But there's more to it. The new app flavor also comes with Twitter Search integration with the universal search feature on BlackBerry 6 devices. Results will be delivered from the entire smartphone, Search categories within Twitter included.

There is also a new black chrome color scheme, along with a brand new “Compose Tweet” button placed on the navigation bar, which would enable users to compose tweets from anywhere in the application.

Have a look at the screenshots attached to this article to make a better idea of how the application looks like. All users in the BlackBerry Beta Zone can enjoy these features as of today.
