Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is gearing up for the release of a new version of their BlackBerry App World, and some more info on it has just emerged into the wild.

The next iteration of the mobile application portal would arrive as the BlackBerry App World 3.0, and should offer more features for the new BlackBerry devices, including the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Of course, applications for the tablet PC are already available via the software portal, but expanded capabilities aimed at new devices are expected to be included into the mix.

Unfortunately, to screenshots are available with the upcoming storefront, though details on the enhancements RIM plans for it did made it into the wild.

Apparently, one of the main changes the handset vendor would plan might be the revamping the user interface of BlackBerry App World.

A completely new and improved appearance should become available for users, along with new features included into the mix beside OS6-style categories with carousel browsing.

The portal should arrive with a search bar that would work just like the Universal Search on the Home Screen does.

Not to mention that RIM would include carrier billing with support for all four major wireless carriers in the United States, as for other as well.

Another interesting feature the portal might include would be the possibility to share applications using the BlackBerry Messenger, or to enjoy subscription for content per 7 or 30 days - Trials.

RIM is also expected to work on normalizing price tags across various currencies, and to add special features for enterprise users, such as a special channel, or the possibility to set visibility and permissions by BES admin.

According to the news, the mobile phone maker might release the new BlackBerry App World 3.0 sometime during the third quarter of the ongoing year, but nothing was confirmed on the matter.

Undoubtedly, more info on the matter would emerge as we approach the actual release date, so stay tuned to learn additional details on this. Hopefully screenshots with the application portal would also make their way on the web before the official release.
