Sony Ericsson is yet another mobile phone maker that seems to be interested in delivering an unlimited music downloads service to cellphone users out there. For the beginning, the company is reported to have partnered with T-Mobile to make the service available for handset users in The Netherlands. Called PlayNow Plus, it comes on Sony Ericsson's W995 slider.

The Japanese-Swedish phone manufacturer and T-Mobile offer the service in the country for 9.95 EUR a month, though users will also need to opt for a data plan that starts at 9.95 EUR as well. On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman is labeled as a testing device for the service, and users that purchase it will benefit from six months during which they can try out the new PlayNow Plus.

Starting with September 8 this year, users in The Netherlands can purchase a Sony Ericsson W995 from T-Mobile and enjoy the new service, yet it seems that other handsets that will deliver support for PlayNow Plus are also on their way to the market. According to tweakers.net, the already announced Sony Ericsson Yari device is expected to come to the market in the country bundled with the service too.

The news site also says that the fresh service comes as a response to Nokia's Comes With Music, another service that provides users with unlimited song downloads upon the purchase of a specific handset from the company. Comes With Music should arrive to The Netherlands on October 1 on Nokia 5530, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the N86 8MP.

Nokia's Comes With Music, as many of you might already know, allows users to keep the tracks they download during the subscription period even after it has ended. There are no details on how Sony Ericsson's service will approach this matter, yet more info should surface in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
