The latest phone to come with a flip form factor from Philips is Xenium X530, which still bears the company's name, although the mobile division of Philips Electronics has been acquired by a Chinese company, which will actually manufacture the device.

As we are already accustomed with the Xenium series, the new X530 device also includes a long-lasting battery that is said to be capable of delivering up to 8 hours of talk time, as well as up to 850 hours of stand-by time.

The new Philips Xenium X530 seems to be a rather nice looking mobile phone, both when closed and when flipped, yet the rest of the specifications it will come with only place it in the entry-level market segment.

When it comes to connectivity capabilities, the new Xenium X530 offers support for tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900 MHz) frequency standards, yet it also includes Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with A2DP functionality.

The new device comes with a 2.2-inch internal TFT display that is able to provide a 240 x 320 pixel resolution as well as 262K colors, and it also includes a 1-inch OLED external display. Among the other capabilities of the new Xenium X530 device we can also count a Music player, FM radio with RDS, as well as a 2-megapixel photo snapper.

The handset also includes an NXP 5210 chipset, while measuring 99.1 x 47.1 x 18 millimeters. According to the news, we should be able to spot the Philips Xenium X530 on the Asian and European markets only, although it seems that it has been recently approved by the FCC for the USA market as well. For the time being, there are no exact details on the launch time frame of the device, nor on the price tag it might feature.
