LittleBigPlanet seems to be worth the cash

We recently reported that Sony wants to test the dedicated servers which its blockbuster title LittleBigPlanet would be getting on launch day and released a beta of the game. Also, as a token of appreciation for all the support the developers got during the making of this game, they released several thousand beta keys to gaming sites which offered them to their users. Although there were more than enough keys, the demand was so high that they were gone in a matter of hours. It was inevitable that someone wouldn't see a money making opportunity and capitalize on this high demand. We are now seeing quite a lot of announcements on the Internet, on specialty sites, like Ebay, of LBP beta keys for sale.

And not for any small sum, but for as high as 60 dollars. Although these kinds of auctions are a violation of the major bidding site's policy, there are quite a lot of people who auctioned for some of the keys. You might boggle to such facts because the game is only a month and a half away from its official launch in the full version. The reason why anyone would pay to play a stripped down, online only version is beyond explanation, but you just can't argue with the devotion of the die hard fans for their beloved game.

Since the announcement of the title in development, LBP has grasped the admiration of the gaming crowd. Controlling your own SackBoy or SackGirl and completely manipulating the environment around you pushed the boundaries of innovation. The opportunity of creating you own levels for the game and sharing them on the PlayStation Network is also a very attractive feature for the game. Plus, as one of the managers of the company behind its development, Media Molecule, put it, your custom levels could bring you into the gaming industry.

All that is left to do is wait until the PlayStation 3 exclusive puzzler hits the stores on November 21.
