Wolfire has announced a special offer on five games that work with Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. Basically, you donate an unspecified amount of money that goes to charity, and you get World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD and Penumbra: Overture as a bundle. Interested parties can also choose to turn the package into a gift, while all titles are DRM-free.

“The Humble Indie Bundle is a unique kind of bundle that we are trying out,” the people at Wolfire explain. “Pay what you want. If you bought these five games separately, it would cost around $80 but we're letting you set the price!” the announcement reads. “All of the games work great on Mac, Windows, and Linux. We didn't want to leave anyone out,” the offer reads on.

“There is no middle-man. You can rest assured that 100% of your purchase goes directly to the developers and non-profits as you specify (minus credit card fees),” Wolfire adds. “We don't use DRM. When you buy these games, they are yours. Feel free to play them without an internet connection, back them up, and install them on all of your Macs and PCs freely.”

According to the people behind this truly magnificent initiative, all proceeds go to the amazing Child's Play charity and Electronic Frontier Foundation. The amount of cash is split equally between the seven participants (including Child's Play and EFF) by default. However, customers can modify the split to send more to one party and less to the other.

Just to be clear, gamers can pay whatever they want for the Humble Indie Bundle of games. As Wolfire itself puts it, “More than a penny would sure be nice.” Visit Wolfire here to benefit from this offer, which ends in about six days from now (according to the countdown timer at the top of the web page).
