Two third-party applications have received important updates recently, Softpedia is pleased to inform. Yazsoft’s Speed Download Lite 1.1.16 adds better handling of GRX files and other tweaks and fixes, while Transmission 1.93 brings nothing but bug fixes, but a truckload of them.

Speed Download Lite is a stripped-down version of Yazsoft’s flagship Mac app, which offers just the download manager – no extra features, like FTP, File Sharing, WEBDAV, etc. According to its makers, the Lite version was created in response to a big demand from users who simply needed a download manager, nothing more, nothing less. The latest revision of Speed Download Lite, version 1.1.16, brings the following changes, Yazsoft reveals:

- Better handling of GRX files; - Fixed a bug that would cause a Safari crash for some users; - Fixed a bug that would cause SD to quit when using the 'Add Files from URL' feature; - SD no longer selects items newly added to the queue from the background; - Other internal tweaks.

Transmission, our second updated Mac app, is a popular BitTorrent client available for both Linux and Mac OS X. On the Mac side, the program’s developers fixed a rare crash when some peers disconnected unexpectedly, and a bug that didn't parse scheduled speed limit dates correctly, to name a few noteworthy code corrections. They also included an update to miniupnpc-1.4. Other addressed issues (highlights) are listed below.

· Fix bug that broke magnet links whose names contained slashes; · Fix crash when updating the blocklist when the disk is full; · Fix slow file preallocation on Unix systems not using ext3/ext4; · Fix regression which broke the “bind-address-ipv4” configuration setting; · For better security, Web client connections are disabled by default; · Fix bug that crashed when removing more than one torrent at once; · Fix bug when parsing the remote password from the command line; · Fix bug parsing RPC requests when setting which files to not download.
