Pantech is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new Android device that will offer support for 4G LTE networks, one that should arrive on shelves as the successor of the already popular Pantech Vega.

The new handset has just made an appearance into the wild under the name of Pantech Vega LTE, and is expected to arrive on the market in South Korea in the near future.

The yet-unannounced mobile phone has just emerged on a Korean website, in a photo that puts it next to handsets like the HTC Raider 4G, Samsung GALAXY S II LTE, or the LG Optimus LTE.

All four mobile phones seem to be on their way to the South Korean market, and all four will provide users with fast download speeds on 4G networks.

However, while the HTC Raider 4G (PH39110) and the Samsung GALAXY S II LTE (SHV-E110S) are already official, the LG Optimus LTE (LG-SU640) and the Pantech Vega LTE (IM-A800S) have yet to be formally introduced.

Rumor has it that the Pantech Vega LTE will arrive on the market with a 1.5GHz dual-core application processor inside, complemented by enough RAM to ensure great performance capabilities.

Moreover, the new handset is said to pack a large 4.5-inch touchscreen display, one that would boast a 1280 × 720 pixels HD resolution.

The mobile phone is also said to arrive on shelves with WiFi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity capabilities, as well as with Bluetooth 3.0.

The same as the other three devices in that picture, the new smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves with Google's Android operating system on board.

For the time being, no specific details on when the new Pantech Vega LTE might become official have emerged, but rumor has it that it should be formally introduced in stores pretty soon, so stay tuned for additional detail on this.
