A new LTE-capable smartphone is now available for purchase in the United States on the airwaves of wireless carrier Verizon, namely the Pantech Breakout.

The new phone was officially introduced a few days ago, following a long series of rumors on its availability at Verizon, and is available for purchase on Big Red's network starting today.

The new device was put up for sale on the carrier's website here, but it also available via the company's retail locations around the United States.

The phone features a price tag of $99 (around 75 Euros) at Verizon, with the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 online discount. Users will need to commit to a data plan to purchase the device.

“Now is the time to breakout of that Basic or 3G Smartphone device, and break into the Breakout! It shines through with super–fast downloads, in a slim & attractive design,” the wireless carrier notes.

“The Breakout has many features designed to enhance your mobile experience at a competitive price.”

Based on Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the new handset sports a large 4.0-inch touchscreen display, along with a fast 1GHz application processor, and support for fast data transfer speeds on the carrier's 4G LTE network.

At the same time, it also sports a 5MP camera on the back, VGA camera on the front for video calling, Wi–Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microSD memory card slot for expanding the available internal memory, WiFi hotspot capabilities, and the like, all in an appealing design.

“With a slim stylish design and up–to–date technology, the Pantech Breakout has many features designed to enhance your mobile experience,” the wireless carrier notes.

“All of this is incorporated in a design that has personality – just like you! The back of the Breakout has a textured surface to help you grip the phone when on a call or texting your BFF, while the front features a design that is just like you – meant to stand out in the crowd!”

The Pantech Breakout packs a 1500mAh Li–Ion battery that can deliver up to 347 minutes of usage time, or up to 303 hours of standby time.
