Pantech strengthens its presence on the US market with another device that's supposed to be launched by the end of the year, Pantech P9050. Also known as Pantech Sparrow, the phone hasn't been officially introduced by Pantech, but FCC already has most of the documentation they need to approve the device.

According to the files revealed by FCC, Pantech P9050 is close to an AT&T launch, as it features some if the carrier's specific services, such as Video Share and Mobile Locker.

The Sparrow looks like a sideways slider touch phone, but there's no information yet if the device will also run Android or any other operating system.

The slider is also dual-band 850/1900 GSM / EDGE / WCDMA compatible and features Bluetooth connectivity.

Other key features that we could find in the user's manual include a 3.1-inch touch display (480 x 800 pixels resolution), 3.0-megapixel camera with video capture, as well as GPS built-in receiver.

P9050 also comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion and microUSB port for PC synchronization.

Judging by the lack of info, as well as from the pictures found, this might be a full QWERTY feature-phone, and not a smartphone as one would expect.

There's no telling when exactly AT&T will add the device to its offerings, but the carrier's subscribers can expect the phone to come out before the end of the year.

If you're trying to avoid one of those expensive smartphone that have been coming out on the market lately, Pantech Sparrow might be a good choice for those with lower budgets.

The handset perfectly emulates a smartphone look, let's hope that won't be the case with its price too.

Pantech P9050 Sparrow will probably be approved by the FCC in the next few weeks and will most likely hit AT&T shelves in Q4 2010.
