Wireless carrier AT&T has made available for purchase on its airwaves the second webOS-based device it announced not too long ago, namely the Palm Pixi Plus, which follows the launch of Palm Pre Plus last month. The new mobile phone is now available for purchase from the wireless operator in two color versions, Black and Blue, and sports a price tag of $49.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the company (a $15/month data service required).

Those who would like to enjoy the features of this webOS-based device without committing to a service agreement with the carrier will have to pay $299.99 to purchase it. Even so, the phone might seem a nice option when compared to other handsets put on sale via AT&T, especially considering its low contract price tag. The first Palm webOS device at AT&T, the Pre Plus, is currently available for purchase for $149.99 on contract.

In case there are some who are not yet familiar with what the Palm Pixi Plus has to offer to them, we should count candybar form factor, a 2.63-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel (HVGA) resolution, coupled with a QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of internal memory, USB connectivity options, Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP + EDR, 3G (UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 MHz) capabilities for high-speed data and voice, along with Wi-Fi functionality for an enhanced wireless experience.

The new phone offers users the possibility to easily access Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail accounts, comes with built-in GPS receiver and support for AT&T Navigator, as well as with music player, a 2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, dual speakers for 3D sound, and more. The handset measures 2.17 x 4.37 x 0.43 inches and weighs in at 3.51 ounces, while being powered by a 1150 mAH battery that can offer up to 5 hours of talk time or up to 350 hours of standby time. Those interested in the phone can purchase it from AT&T's website here.
