Says Pixi Plus will land on June 6

One of the latest smartphones available for purchase on AT&T's airwaves is the Palm Pre Plus, a webOS-based handset that got launched in the US on Verizon Wireless' network in early 2010. The handset can be acquired from AT&T for $149.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier. The full retail price for Palm Pre Plus has been set at $399.99.

“To round out our smartphone portfolio, AT&T offers the innovative Palm webOS platform to AT&T users by introducing the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus. The only webOS devices in the U.S. to support simultaneous voice and data. With access to the nation's largest Wi-Fi network with more than 20,000 U.S. hotspots, power users can run multiple applications at once and easily move between them,” the carrier notes on its website.

The second webOS-based handset to land at AT&T, the Pixi Plus, is set to make an appearance on shelves on June 6, the company states. Until then, users will have the possibility to enjoy the features of Palm Pre Plus, which does have enough to offer to them, starting with the 3.1-inch touchscreen display and the sliding QWERTY keyboard, and going all the way to its multi-tasking capabilities.

The specifications list of Palm Pre Plus includes support for UMTS bands/HSDPA: 850/1900, GSM bands: 850/900/1800/1900 and GPRS EDGE Class 10, a display that can deliver a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, a 3-megapixel photo snapper with flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, audio and video players, and more.

The handset boasts 16 GB of internal memory space and is powered by a 1150 mAh battery that can offer up to 5 hours of talk time on 3G. It also comes with support for POP3, IMAP4, and EAS email, and with SMS, MMS (picture and video only), IM - AOL and Gtalk capabilities.
