Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless recently lowered the price tag of Palm Pre Plus, bringing the device down to $29.99 upon the signing of a two-year agreement. The high-end Pre Plus seems to register rather slow sales, and the new price cut should help it enjoy a higher traction on the market, especially since now it costs the same as the other webOS-based device Verizon has on sale, the Pixi Plus.

Palm's Pre Plus and Pixi Plus smartphones landed on Big Red's airwaves back in January, and they've been through a series of price cuts ever since. Sales have been somehow disappointing, it seems, and Verizon is trying to make the devices more appealing to its users. Boasting a nice range of advanced capabilities, the Pre Plus should prove a good choice to users, especially with a series of Verizon services attached to it. Those interested in getting the Pre Plus with the new price tag from Verizon Wireless will find it available on the carrier's website here.

Here's what the carrier has to say about the phone: “Vivid touchscreen and slide–out keyboard in one beautiful package. The Palm Pre Plus phone helps you navigate your life with an advanced touchscreen, full keyboard, and the intuitive Palm webOS that keeps multiple apps open at once. View websites and watch videos in widescreen. Slide out the keyboard to fire off a text or email. Bring work and personal events or contacts together into one simple view. All in an elegant design that fits perfectly in your hand, and your life.”

Pre Plus is the upgraded version of Palm's Pre handset launched on the market last year via Sprint. Some of its specs include Wi–Fi Ready (802.11 b/g) connectivity, 3G Mobile Hot Spot capabilities, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, a 3-megapixel camera with flash, Speakerphone, a 3.1-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 320 pixel (HVGA) resolution, sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a battery that can deliver up to 330 minutes of talk time or up to 350 hours of standby. The handset measures 3.9 x 2.3 x 0.67 inches and weighs in at 4.89 oz.
