It seems that the rumored Palm Eos mobile phone, the second handset coming from the carrier featuring the brand new webOS, is starting to take shape, in the form of a Centro successor that should be launched on the market sometime in the second half of the ongoing year via AT&T, as some newly leaked slides from the carrier show.

The new Palm Eos (aka Castle) comes to the market with a Centro-like form-factor, sports a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.63-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 400 pixel resolution, and includes 4GB of internal storage space. In addition, the GSM-powered smartphone is also expected to feature support for POP3, IMAP, and EAS, as well as Instant Messaging functionality, including SMS, MMS, and an integrated IM client with support for AOL, Gtalk, Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger.

The candybar handset should also include support for UMTS / HSDPA / GSM / GPRS / EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR connectivity, micro USB slot, AGPS capabilities, a 2-megapixel photo snapper with fixed focus, flash and video recording capabilities, audio and video playback with support for WAV, MP3, AAC, AAC+, MPEG4, H.264 and H.263 files.

In addition, the upcoming Palm Eos is also expected to sport features like AT&T Navigator, contact sync with AT&T Address Book, support for AT&T Mail, as well as cellular video. The handset measures 55 x 111 x 10.6mm and weighs 100 grams. It includes an 1150 mAh battery that is reported to deliver up to 4 hours of talk time on 3G networks.

As anyone can easily see, the upcoming phone has a lot of goodies packed inside, so it should appeal to a lot of people as soon as it becomes available for purchase on the market. And since it has been rumored to come to Sprint's lineup as well, it should be able to make a lot of people rejoice, just as its big brother Palm Pre is expected to do.
