Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 will be relaunched on April 1 (no joke) on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC, repackaged under the Platinum and Classics brands.

The move, which includes a price cut, is designed to both boost the sales of the football simulation and to allow more football lover access to PES 2011, which this year has been lagging behind FIFA 11 from EA Spots in terms of sales.

It seems that the team at Konami is not adding any new content to the game in time for the relaunch and there;s no information on whether the launched downloadable content, like new kits and boots, is included.

Jon Murphy, who is the leader of the European team working on PES 2011, says, “PES 2011 represents a huge step forward for the series and its new lower price will be a welcome chance for football fans to sample the sheer skill and artistry the game offers.”

He added, “PES 2011 offers a stunning level of control and demands precision and timing from the player. The game’s introduction of a real-time player market mechanism on Master League Online offers users a new level of depth and realism to their experience. Once people delve into this area, PES 2011 will offer a level of depth they have never experienced before.”

PES 2011 introduced the concept of total freedom to the series, allowing the gamer to have more control over his players and creating a more dynamic experience, which includes the Champions League and the Copa Libertadores.

Konami is also preparing to launch a PES 2011 3D version of the game for the Nintendo 3DS handheld.

The new game will use the three-dimensional abilities of the device to put the player at the center of the experience, with a new camera mode that tracks movement around the pitch.
