A producer working at EA Canada has offered the first official details on FIFA 12, the next EA Sports created installment in the long-running and successful football simulation series, saying that the team is working on developing the Personality+ system which appeared last year and on creating a more fluid experience for the gamer.

Speaking to the United Kingdom Official PlayStation Magazine David Rutter, who is a producer working at EA Canada on FIFA 12, has said that, “I think we did a great job with the Personality Plus feature but the team doesn't support that quite as much as it should.”

He offered an example, saying, “As an example, a team doesn't spot that if Peter Crouch in the area, they can lay a load of high balls onto his head.”

The way the Artificial Intelligence reacts to new game features is one area of a game that developers are always keen to evolve.

Rutter also pointed to another area which could be improved for FIFA 12, saying, “Set-pieces are still a bit lame. I get frustrated by not being able to do quick throw-ins, not being able to quickly select my free-kick takers, on the fly stuff. We're somewhat last-gen in the way the game cuts.”

The producer has told the magazine that there are many other areas of the game that the development team is looking at, but that at the moment the above-mentioned areas are being worked on, with many more changes set to be made before the game is launched.

FIFA 11 was very well received when it was launched late last year and the game will have to continue to sustain gamers as the next title in the franchise is being worked on at EA Canada.

The game will likely arrive on all major platforms, including the new 3DS, at some point in September of this year.
