The PC edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops will be getting the new Escalation downloadable map pack for it on June 2, after the pack was released at the beginning of the month for the Xbox 360 console.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has received its first piece of downloadable content, the First Strike map pack, back in February and March, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions, while the second one has just been released for the Xbox 360, as part of the older timed exclusive deal between Microsoft and Activision, Black Ops' publisher.

Now, Activision and the game's developer, Treyarch, have announced when PC gamers are going to get a hold of the Escalation DLC.

"Gear up, soldiers! Treyarch and Activision are happy to announce that Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation is launching worldwide for PC on June 2nd," the companies revealed in a statement.

In case you didn't catch the first details when the map pack arrived for the Xbox 360, Escalation brings four new levels for Call of Duty: Black Ops' competitive multiplayer mode, and a special scenario for the game's cooperative Zombies one.

"In Multiplayer, battle it out in "Hotel", on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana; "Convoy" delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed US military convoy; "Zoo" takes you on a wild ride in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo, with danger at every turn; "Stockpile" pits players in a remote Russian farm town housing secret WMD facilities."

Fans of the Zombie mode will be able to enjoy the extra special Call of the Dead scenario, which brings brand new playable characters, including famous Hollywood actors like Sarah Michelle Gellar or Danny Trejo, who are forced to battle the legions of undead led by famous zombie movie director, George Romero.

The Escalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops is expected to arrive on June 2, through the Steam digital download service.
