The second map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Escalation, is now being rolled out onto Xbox Live, Microsoft's online service for the Xbox 360 console.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to get a brand new batch of maps for its multiplayer competitive mode as well as for its zombies cooperative one, with the release of the Escalation map pack.

After the release in February of the First Strike DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Xbox 360, the Microsoft console is now getting, as part of the timed exclusive deal between it and Activision, the second batch of downloadable content ahead of other platforms like the PlayStation 3 or PC

Just like the First Strike map pack, Escalation brings four new maps for the regular competitive multiplayer, in the form of Hotel, Convoy, Zoo and Stockpile, as well as a new scenario for the cooperative Zombies mode, in the form of Call of the Dead.

Check out the details straight from Activision, the game's publisher, and Treyarch, its developer, below.

"In Multiplayer, battle it out in "Hotel", on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana; "Convoy" delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed US military convoy; "Zoo" takes you on a wild ride in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo, with danger at every turn; "Stockpile" pits players in a remote Russian farm town housing secret WMD facilities."

As we revealed last week, the new Call of the Dead level for the Zombie mode is extra special, as new playable characters are introduced, including famous Hollywood actors like Sarah Michelle Gellar or Danny Trejo, who are forced to battle the legions of undead led by famous zombie movie director, George Romero.

"For Zombies fans, "Escalation" features a unique Zombies experience: “Call of the Dead”. Play as the zombie-killing dream-team of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund, Michael Rooker, and Danny Trejo against a new and unnerving zombie menace. Set in a mysterious ice-covered remote Siberian island and inspired by legendary writer and director George A. Romero, a group of four fearless explorers fight for their lives amidst an army of bloodthirsty Russian zombies."

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation DLC for the Xbox 360 is now being rolled out on the Xbox Live service worldwide, and will be available for download in the following hours for 1200 MS Points ($15) from the Xbox Live Marketplace or straight from within the game's DLC store.

Until then, check out a video below, detailing the multiplayer maps as well as the Call of the Dead level.
