It seems that Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is determined to leverage the user experience for those who enjoy its Ovi Mail, and to make the service available in more markets around the world, as the company has recently updated the mail service with new languages and with a few other improvements.

The number of languages that are now supported on Ovi Mail has reached 14, namely Italian, Vietnamese, Latin America Spanish, (UK) English, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Bengali, French, German, Hindi, Tagalog, Portugese (Brazil), Portugese (Portugal) and Spanish, with the newly added Latin American Spanish, Vietnamese and Italian.

The addition of three new languages is not the only improvement Nokia has brought to the service, as we can also count a larger compose space for emails, auto-check for new messages, new instructions on Nokia devices that deliver step-by-step guidance on setting up and using Ovi Mail, as well as auto-expansion of the CC and BCC fields when multiple recipients are being entered.

Ovi Mail has been developed so as to offer access to email to consumers from emerging markets who can sometimes find it difficult to gain access to a personal computer. The service allows users to set up and access their emails directly from their Nokia mobile phones, and offers them the possibility to gain a digital identity.

Ovi Mail is currently supported on a number of more than 40 Nokia handsets, and can be used in over 70 countries all around the world. The mail service went live on December 22, 2008, and there are more than 350,000 Ovi Mail accounts that were created by the end of May 2009. According to the company, more than 85 percent of the accounts were created from a mobile phone.

Those who would like to use the service can easily set it up on their Nokia (Series 40) phone. More information can be found on Ovi Mail.
