Earlier this year, news broke that Susan Boyle could not perform “Perfect Day” on America’s Got Talent because Lou Reed would hold her in violation of his copyright. He’s now more than made up to her.

The official video for “Perfect Day,” which Susan had recorded before the media scandal this September around the AGT canceled performance, is now out.

Not only that but, as Examiner reports, it was directed by Lou Reed himself, perhaps as a means of saying he was sorry for what happened then – not to mention the kind of flack he got in the media for it.

The video perfectly matches the song, and perhaps the best way to describe it is that it’s “glorious.” Clearly, though this is only his second directorial work, Reed knows what needs to be done to create a masterpiece.

Most of the video is comprised of scenery shot from a helicopter in Scotland, Loch Lomond, with Susan telling the British media she felt she “had” to shoot this video in her home country.

There are, of course, also shots of Susan herself, as she’s waiting for the sunrise and she’s singing her heart out, dramatically holding out her hands to the camera.

“Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation Susan Boyle has unveiled a new ‘Perfect Day,’ and it is something definitely worth checking out,” Examiner writes.

“In a new music video, Boyle quite possibly makes her Lou Reed cover into one of the most epic songs of all time,” the same media outlet notes.

“In this music video, you have Boyle standing along amidst weather changes and sweeping landscapes – it almost feels like we’re watching ‘Lord of the Rings’ set to Susan’s voice,” Examiner says.

“Is it effective? It’s a captivating video to watch, even though at the same time this is not exactly how many people would picture their ‘Perfect Day.’ (It is, however, a very natural approach to the idea.)” the publication further notes.
