The moment of LG KU990's launch is approaching, and that becomes clear from the fact that the producer has officially announced it and also revealed a date when the phone will be launched. The device holds a huge number of features capable of making it a worthy substitute for any other evolved smartphone on the market.

Ever since the first leaked images of LG KU990 Viewty have appeared, people have thrilled at the thought that this might be the first device capable of living up to the demands of bearing the "iPhone killer" title. When it comes to certain features, this handset manages to score even higher than Apple's phone, while others are less performant, although still very good.

A large touchscreen is a default feature nowadays in those devices that try to compete with the iPhone. LG KU990 Viewty has a 3-inch display, capable of supporting a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. This seems to be excellent in combination with the YouTube support. Videos display beautifully and at a high quality too.

Probably the most impressive feature on the LG KU990 Viewty is its 5.1 megapixel camera, capable of taking high-quality photographs that can be later edited by the user. It also comes with manual focus and image stabilizer features, in order to make captures come as close as possible to the quality of a digital camera.

"This is a very exciting time for us. The LG Black Label Series and our collaboration with PRADA have cemented our position as an innovator in design and style. With the launch of the new LG Viewty we are now also proving our commitment to technical enhancement and look forward to taking the feature phone category by storm", said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Mobile.

LG KU990 Viewty will hit the UK market later this year, coming from several operators. The phone will be presented during IFA 2007 in Berlin on August 31st, 2007.
