O2 UK is yet another carrier that announced a series of new data plans tailored specifically for the newly launched Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G. According to the company, the new plans do not require a long contract and come with free unlimited access to BT Openzone and The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots. Additionally, the carrier says that users will find it easy to activate, manage and monitor their accounts straight from the iPad.

iPad users on O2's airwaves will be notified when approaching the data limit on their plan, while also receiving a direct link to iPad settings where they can check on the data usage, upgrade their tariff or cancel it. Among the features the device offers to O2 users, we can count web browsing, photo sharing, HD video playback, music listening, games, and others more. At the same time, the iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G comes with a Multi-Touch user interface, is only 0.5 inches thick, and can boast up to 10 hours of battery life when it comes to Internet browsing on Wi-Fi (up to 9 hours on 3G).

“We are truly excited to provide service for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G,” said Sally Cowdry, O2’s marketing director. “We’ve worked closely with Apple to make sure customers get an excellent experience when using their iPad Wi-Fi + 3G on O2. Not only will it be quick and easy to buy value for money data access from the device, but customers will also benefit from our overall, award-winning service wrap which includes great network and great customer service and the added benefit of access to thousands of public Wi-Fi hotspots.”

According to O2, its users will benefit from great value Pay & Go mobile broadband tariff options, providing them with an enhanced level of control and flexibility when it comes to how much they spend on their data plans. Among the options available for users we can count one with 500MB of data for only £2 per day, the 1GB of data traffic for £10 recurring every 30 days, or the 3GB of data for £15 recurring every 30 days (“Recurring payment tariffs automatically deduct payment from a customer’s chosen payment method every 30 days. Recurring tariffs can be cancelled through the iPad up to 24 hours before the next payment is due,” O2 states).
