Wireless carrier Orange UK has recently announced the introduction of new iPad plans for customers in the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Switzerland. According to the company, the new plans were launched as the result of an extension of its partnership with Apple, based on which the carrier delivered the iPhone to 30 markets across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Moreover, the operator revealed that its partnership with Apple should result in the launch of iPad in additional Orange markets.

Orange UK has put in place a series of special 3G data plans for the Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, available for customers starting today. At the same time, the carrier plans to launch a pre-registration site for SIMs at Orange.co.uk/iPad. Users will be able to choose between pay-as-you-go, daily, weekly and monthly data plans, so that they can find the option that best fits their needs.

iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before. Users can browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks and much more, all using iPad’s revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface. iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models are just 0.5 inches thick and weigh just 1.6 pounds—thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook—and deliver up to 10 hours of battery life for surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos or listening to music, and up to nine hours of surfing the web using a 3G data network,” the wireless services provider notes.

Among the plans put in place at Orange UK, we can count the “Pay monthly for what you use” option, with comes with a cost of 5p per consumed MB. According to the carrier, the plan comes with a cost of only £40 per month, with no optional bundle included. The company's customers can choose from iPad bundles too, which start at £2, offering 200MB to use during one day, and going to £7.50 for 1GB that can be used during one week, and two £15 and £25 for iPad Monthly 15 and 25, respectively. The iPad Monthly 15 plan comes with 3GB + unlimited browsing at Wi-Fi hotspots, while iPad Monthly 25 offers 10GB + unlimited browsing at Wi-Fi hotspots. A fair usage policy of 750MB applies to the “unlimited browsing at Wi-Fi hotspots” part.

Free of charge micro-SIMs for iPad are available for Orange's customers. Those interested in these solutions can order them directly from Apple, from Orange shops, Orange telesales, or from the carrier's website. Additionally, iPad users will be able to access a series of Orange iPad apps, such as Orange Wednesdays, Your Account, or Orange Wi-Fi hotspot locator.
