Still running under Symbian

Nokia's upcoming flagship mobile phone, the Nokia N9, has made it once again into the wild. Featured in a new video, the handset seems set to make us understand that it might not be too long before it would land on the market. However, considering the official announcements on MeeGo, the operating system this device is expected to arrive on the market with, the Nokia N9 might not arrive before November, even if most of us would love to see it on shelves much sooner.

Allegedly, the mobile phone emerged around the Internet quite a few times over the past few weeks, though there are chances that, in the end, we spotted another Nokia smartphone and not the N9. However, a new video with the handset is available for your viewing pleasure, claiming that the N9 is what we see there, even if the phone's bezel and its back cover show “C0” and no “N.”

The guys over at TechnoBuffalo (via Engadget) are those who came up with the new clip with Nokia N9. The handset is not running under the MeeGo platform, but under what seems to be the Symbian^3 platform, even if the video claims at a certain point it might be S60 platform. Chances are that the device would actually be a Nokia N8 model, but no official info on this is available.

MeeGo for mobile phones was released as a developer preview yesterday, and it makes sense that it wasn't on this device when the video was shot. However, in case the device is indeed the Nokia N9, it might not be too long before videos and photos with it running under the actual OS would emerge. Until that happens, we'll have to look at it playing around with the Symbian OS.

In addition to offering a hands-on with the so called Nokia N9, the video shows us how the device would look like when put side by side with some of the hottest mobile phones on the market today, including the iPhone 4 and the HTC EVO 4G. The video offers much more details, so have a look at it.
