Might be another Nokia device in the end

Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia was rumored not too long ago to plan launching on the market a new flagship device, the first one to run under the new MeeGo operating system, namely the Nokia N9. Various rumors and info on the device emerged into the wild not too long ago, including some photos that allegedly showed the Nokia N9, followed by a video that shows the same device.

The Nokia N9 is expected to arrive on shelves as Nokia's next flagship device. Based on the MeeGo operating system, it should include a wide range of high-end features, including a large touchscreen display, complemented by a sliding full-QWERTY keyboard, an 8-megapixel photo snapper, a fast processor, and the like. However, no specific information on the hardware capabilities of the upcoming device was unveiled until now, and all might remain in the speculation area.

The good news is that the video available with the device, courtesy of Negri Electronics, offers us the possibility to make an idea on what Nokia might have in store for us for the near future. The device featured in the clip is pretty good looking, and some info on its specs can be extracted from there, including the presence of a HDMI port, a slim QWERTY, a better touchscreen display, and other more.

Chances are that the mobile phone that one can admire in the video embedded below might not be the Nokia N9 we're all waiting for. There are at least two reasons to say that, including the fact that the phone's front and its battery cover have a “C” on them, and not an “N”, as one would have expected, or that the device is actually running Symbian, and not MeeGo.

Until an official announcement on the Nokia N9 is made, or on another new mobile phone Nokia is working on, we'll have our reserves when saying that the handset in the video below is to become the first flagship MeeGo-based Nokia smartphone. But that does not meant it cannot be, especially if Nokia started the work on it before MeeGo.
