Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is expected to make its first Symbian^3-based device available for purchase before the end of this month, and it seems that the UK is to get it first, on September 23.

We already knew that the handset is expected to become available for purchase before the end of the third quarter of the year, but no specific info on its arrival emerged until now.

However, a recent article on noknok.tv claims that September 23 should be the lucky day for UK enthusiasts, and that other markets should get it after the UK.

The mobile phone has been made available for pre-order in various markets around the world, both on Nokia's official website and on the portals of various retailers.

However, the leading mobile phone maker did not unveil specific info on when it would make the handset available for purchase, but previous rumors on the matter converged towards a September launch.

The Nokia N8 is the first handset the company launches with the new Symbian^3 OS, and also the first Nokia device to pack a 12-megapixel camera on the back.

Set to become the new Nokia flagship phone on the market, the N8 need to impress a lot, for it is the first high-end smartphone the company launches this year.

Moreover, given Nokia's rather poor representation at the high-end of the market lately, some suggested that the company might lose it leading position on the market in front of younger, stronger competitors, and the N8 is expected to prove otherwise.

Hopefully, the new mobile phone would indeed pack all the features it needs so as to be successful.

However, it remains to be seen whether the new rumor on its arrival pans out or not, for Nokia was said previously to have already delayed the handsets release at least once.

More info on the hardware specifications of Nokia N8, as well as on how to place a pre-order for it, are available here.
