Nokia N8, the flagship device from the Finnish mobile phone maker, is now available for pre-order in the United States. According to the company, the new handset should start shipping sometime at the end of September, while being priced at $549 without a contract agreement attached to it.

The first Symbian^3-based mobile phone from Nokia, the N8, is getting closer and closer to hitting the shelves, and has just received a release window for the United States market, where it should become available at the end of September.

It seems that Nokia is set to make the new flagship device available globally during the next month, as previous reports suggested it might land in various European countries at the end of September.

The Nokia N8 can be pre-ordered now in the United States from the company's website, where it is available with a price tag of $549 attached to it, with no monthly contract agreement included in the equation.

Nokia announced the new device a few months ago, but it was only recently that it started to make it available for pre-orders, while unveiling info on when it would land on user's hands.

The N8 is not only the first Nokia phone to run under Symbian^3, but it is also the first one to include a 12-megapixel photo snapper with Xenon flash, which can record 720p videos, and which is complemented by a secondary camera for video calls.

The specifications list of this device also includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that boasts a nHD (640 x 360 pixels) resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, 16 GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm AV connector, FM Radio, GPS receiver, and support for AT&T and T-Mobile 3G networks are also included into the mix. The phone is powered by a BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Mobile phone users in the United States interested in pre-ordering the device should head over to Nokia's website here.
